What is “Auckland Domain”? This looks like a great place to visit on those dreary winter days which I understand you are about to go into.

A domain is a park.

I love the Auckland Domain. I was so impressed when I stumbled upon the winter gardens. Not only was I not expecting it, but I was shocked that there wasn’t an entry fee. The Nancy Steel Garden in Parnell is another hidden treasure.
New Zealand is full of great parks that are FREE to visit, one thing I love about being here.

Oh, yeah. I know the Nancy Steen Garden. It’s very pretty. I like Dove Myer Park which surrounds it too. It has some nice walks with views of the harbor and old trees with these incredible roots spreading beneath them. The garden, park and surrounding neighborhood remind me of San Francisco.
